CAD time

The CAD is almost done now, we have made a few styling changes due to issues like airflow over the radiator being too restricted etc..anyway here is a teaser for the full CAD model
All thats left to do is add the cockpit openings and a fin that covers the roll bar behind the drivers head.

Update time

It been a fair while since the last update but we've got a lot done this month. The chassis is finished and ready to start mounting the buck for casting, also the final CAD model is almost done. Once finished on the CAD we will be laser cutting a whole load of cross sections and then the foam shaping can commence! Power train for the final vehicle is in place, an 1800cc cross-flow running a pair of twin weber carburetors hooked up to 4 speed manual.

The donor car is a Westfield SE, the chassis is in good shape but the bodywork has taken a few knocks..we'll fix that up aswell.

The car has now been stripped right down and we will be building the buck for molding right on top of it.

Hopefully we can get the cross sections of to the laser cutters within the next week, were going for a large number of cross sections as previous experience shows working with large scale symmetry is the most annoying thing in the world!

Rear Sketch Render

As promised here is a very early teaser sketch/render of the cars rear 3/4. The design has not been finalized however and so it may turn out quite different to this!

It lives!

Hello and Welcome!

Firstly thank you for reading! The Cotswold Motor Company is a new design and development business based around designing and building unusual vehicles. The first order of business is the design/construction of a single/two seater sports car with the inclusion of some fancy technology like ducted fans and side skirts! The business was started so i could actually get a design position, no-one was hiring designers with no industrial experience and so the answer was obvious..give myself experience by starting my own company....EASY! The Cotswold Motor Company is going to be very community based, in the works is a dedicated site with forums so the community can discuss design ideas, design competitions and 'sketch offs' as well as giving information on open-days, show appearances.

In the coming weeks we at the Cotswold Motor Company will be bringing you updates on the acquisition of our new chassis all the way from our secret country hideaway! Also there will updates on the design/build process and guides to help all you prospective designers/car builders with your own projects. Once we get started we aim to release some wonderfully produced youtube videos outlining the project. Also in the coming days/week the rest of the team will introduce themselves... until then i will upload some of our ditched design sketches for your enjoyment.
